Re: Info please
It's a great knife. It was probably made about 10 years before you got it. Is the blade sharpened or used a lot? Can you post a better shot of the blade? And it sits pretty deep; is the spring still intact?
Re: Info please
The M. ITALY over INOX in an oval is "said to be" (watch me catch Hell for saying this) a Mauro Mario produced knife from Maniago Italy. Do you swivel the top/front bolster to close it, or pry the locktab up (called a picklock)? Picklock: 1950's...swivel bolster: 1960's. (Just my un-educated guesses).

You're probably right Sammy. My eyes aren't what they once were. I have a tough time seeing that "line" under the top/front bolster to see if it's straight across or has that swivel droop to it. The locktab looks thick though, not thin like many picklocks.

Re: Info please
At first I thought it might be a transitional but almost all (not 100% but close) of trans have swedge blades. I am pretty sure it is a picklock.

Re: Info please
Looks like the blade has been sharpened quite a bit, but I have old eyes too.

Thanks for all the great replies !! To close the knife ,you push down on the left front lever(don't know what it is called). The blade is in very good shape and the spring is in great shape.I had forgot about this knife, until one of my grand kids found it in one of my junk drawers. I will try to post some better pictures.Once again, thanks for the great replies.

Re: Info please
So it is a transitional...if I understand what you are saying. Do you mean you press down on the right guard (lever thing, lol) of the front bolster? To close the knife ,you push down on the left front lever(don't know what it is called).
If that is the case, it was probably made around the time you got it.
Re: Info please
You push down on the left lever thingy LOL. You can tell i don't know crap about knives.

Re: Info please
You push down on the left? When looking at the button side of a swivel-bolster, you push on the right guard so the bolster moves towards the left, which unlocks the blade.

Re: Info please
We need better pictures, but given the ones we have, I don't see how this can be a swivel bolster. A close up of the front top bolster shows NO slant to the bolster or scale, which would be necessary for the swiveling bolster to have clearance. Puzzling.....
