Renzo Pascotto 2025

Post by NorthCarolinaDude »

I present here, for everyone's review, my latest Pascotto knife. It's a 9" hunter style picklock in light horn with a beautiful coffee like streak on the front! It's snappy and heavy as lead, but instead of lead it's solid nickel silver! It's number 7 of 8 knives he made in this footprint. Please excuse image quality as I still haven't migrated to my new phone and this one's camera is dog poop!

Cheers.

Outstanding! At first glance, knowing it is a Pascatto, I knew it would be quite hefty. Is that a pivot screw or pivot pin that I see?

Beautiful! It’s great to see Renzo Pascotto still at it! Did Lucio Di Bon distribute these? Does it have the “Dolphins” etch on the back?

WOW! That's a thing of beauty, one question, is the blade sharpened? I bought one a while ago and it hadn't been sharpened.

That's a good question and I had to look again myself. It's reminiscent of the pivot screw on the batwings and other "heavy frame" swingers from Pascotto/AGA. But I don't see sidewalls that would indicate you can use a hex tool to adjust. It looks more rounded inside, like a round pin that's had the center punched as well. I took a picture and will add it here.

Regards the other questions. First, yes, it does have a slight edge put on it. It's just not easy to see. I'm not sure I would call it sharp but it's definitely not blunt like a lot of the Italian stilettos.

I actually got the knife from Jason Perry. I saw a post by Francesco on FB and he advised the group that Perry was the U.S. contact for these knives.

Cheers.

No Dolphins stamp on this one. I picked up a RP wasp a couple years back and that one does have a Dolphins stamp on the back side. This one just has "2025 7/8" on the back and Renzo's anvil stamp on the front.

Here's a pic (excuse the lint, I had just wiped off some excess oil). :D

An absolutely gorgeous knife but my stars! ---what are you supposed to do, hit the release button with your ring finger! That has to be the lowest-set button I've ever seen! :o

Frank - I agree that it doesn't look like a pivot screw, but it also doesn't look like any pin I have ever seen either.
