Using photbucket ,click the box below the image.
scroll to bottom of page ,and click the --- generate html blah blah blah.
this will open and give you codes for several options.
you want the one that creates thumb nails .
should read something like this.
HTML clickable thumbnails for message boards.
it's the third choice down.
then just copy the code and post it.
should get this result.

here's a site hat will explain it , if you understand html codes.
I can do it ,but can't explain it.

Trial and error.
luckily I have played with codes a few times.
I think what Teddy did was take the original photo and crop it.
then he generated a thumbnail code for it , but changed the name of the first photo , so it links to that pic when you click on it.
to get the larger image instead of a thumbnail ... just remove the (th_ ) that the code creates for the thumbnail , so your basically just linking one pic to another.
here's a code example ,so you can see what I'm babbling about.
[img]http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/ju ... b]th_swirl.jpg[/img]
the bold at the end of the code is the thumbnail - remove the (th_) and it remains a full size photo.
the underlined is what comes up when you click the thumbnail, change it to any pic in your account and it will come up instead of the original photo.
so the photo you want to use ( pic A ) is uploaded to your account , then your crop it , or resize it and upload it as ( pic B ).
create a thumnail code for (pic B ) , substituted pic A in the first 1/2 of the code , and remove the ( th_ ) from the second half.
In order to have a dynamic thumbnail gallery in a post, you will have to have two copies of every picture; one big and one small.
You'll link to the big one FROM the small one.
(The small one being a link, you may choose what picture to link to).
Example:
Here's the code
And here's what that code will present in a post (it's clickable):
I have a small picture that I post like any other picture, and "wrap" it in a link.
Let's break up the code to understand it better, I start with the picture I want to show up in the post:
Now I want THAT picture to act as a link, and we'll treat the whole line of code as "url text" when hyperlinking.
A normal link is only text, and I'll try to give an example.
Here's the code above:
This is URL-text
See how that links to the same big picture, only with text instead of a picture?
Now replace "This is URL-text" with the code for the small picture (cut and paste), and you'll have a picture that acts as a link.
If I want the small picture to link to something else, I'll replace the address within the URL-code.
It's all pretty much like j.a.c. explained.
Please note that the thumbnail picture presented does not have to link to a bigger version of that pic.
Also, it does not matter where on the planet the pictures are stored.
It's easy to screw up, so the "Preview" button is your best friend when doing it.

Here's the code
Code: Select all
