Professor Pete McMickle

Do you want to talk about your beautiful country, family, or dog? Would you like to say where you went on holiday or how you arranged the garden? Are you willing to tell us you girlfriend left you for a(nother) loser? Do you have ANY non knife-related topic you want to discuss? This is the place!

Professor Pete McMickle

Post by Bill DeShivs »

Anyone who ever read the old Automatic Knife Newsletter will remember Professor Pete. He is the man with all of the wonderful Sheffield switchblades that were featured therein.
Pete is a Fellow Memphian and a very good friend of mine. He just had his 82nd birthday and had major heart bypass surgery 2 days later. Pete is on a ventilator and has had to be revived twice. His condition has not improved (or worsened) in the past 3 days.
I'm asking for prayers for Pete. He is a fine man, a good friend of mine and the automatic knife community, and he needs them.

Just got word that Pete had a stroke and there is nothing they can do surgically because of the recent operation.
More prayers.

Tough old guy is still going. They are trying to wean him off the heart/lung machine. Brain swelling from the stroke is under control.
He's still a very sick man, but this is the first "good" news.
