PerryKnife works has a new run of limited edition knives. Is seems that 30% of the ones listed for sale have sold out since their release at 3 pm yesterday. There are three handle selections .....Wanted to mention it as they are going fast...

Re: New limited Frank B Model
I just got one from Perry yesterday.
Considering these cost a small amount more than a standard 11 “ Frank B, I think they are worth it.
The fit and finish on the one I got is pretty good. One thing that irritates me on standard FB’s is that the brass frames are always left rough at the edges, this one has the edges finished.
The top bolsters are nickel silver.
It’s worth noting that the “ Frank B “tang stamp on these are different. They are also numbered and included a small pamphlet with care instructions and warranty information( which I have never seen before).

.
My first reaction was, "Hey! It's a Shark with ears!" -- but there are actually quite a few differences.
The Shark is a lockback; this is a swivel-bolster.
The Shark scales each have 6 pins; this has 5.
The Shark has a swept bayo cut that is half the length
of the edge; this knife has a shorter, right-angle cut.
This knife has a stepped bolster; the Shark does not.
This knife features an oval sear hole that goes through;
the Shark has a standard, round hole.
The Shark has 5mm blade / backspring, and weighs about 195 grams. The limited edition knife is the standard 4mm and weighs about 60 grams less.
--- and of course, if you want the classic look, the L.E.
has ears and the Shark does not.
Of course, there is the price.... the Shark retailed for around 275 to 295. The L.E. is just over 200. The heavier build of the Shark comes at at a significant cost.
I found it interesting to compare the two knives. Despite the superficial similarities, they are two very different builds. Not sure if there are any profound conclusions to be drawn..... but I personally find it interesting.

They are nice, wish they had more options such as a picklock version.button_man wrote: Mon Jun 01, 2026 11:00 pm .

The listing on Perry's site shows a "French Horn Tip" version that doesn't line up with what I thought 'French Tip' would look like.
There have been long wrangles here over the qualifications necessary for this name..... and my perception of colors is impaired..... but still, the knife in the photo seems like a fairly ordinary light horn to me.
Does anyone else have the same reaction?
Or am I missing something here?

Re: New limited Frank B Model
I bought one of the French Horn Tips, picture next to a Limited I bought about 10 years ago at a gun show. I had no idea what it was at the time and didn't think much about it until recently when they started to appear again.

button_man - I don't think you are missing anything. Sometimes I think the term French Horn Tip is used to refer to whatever horn a seller wants it to refer to.
