CALIFORNICA LOTTERY

Post by JerrBear »

BENICIA -A husband and wife from Vallejo are the winners of the $85 million California Lottery jackpot, lottery officials announced Monday.

Guillermo and Bertha Sanchez elected to take the lump-sum payment of $46.5 million before taxes.

As officials announced the winners, the name of a woman who claimed last week to have won wasn't among them.

She had said Friday that she possessed the winning ticket, but wasn't sure she wanted the money. The following day, she said she lost the ticket.

Some people confuse their losing tickets and slips of paper showing the winning numbers.

Jerr,

Thanks for clearing up the status of our "Vegas/SandShark/oil drum/hooker for J-man" lottery jackpot. Do you know if the Sanchez's are knife collectors? You might want to send them a note and tell them about our big plans. :D

Send it to microtec for repair, they may do it for free.

If you have the knife disassembled for the repair/replacement spring, might you share a photo of it? I'd like to see what the spring you're trying to replace looks like, myself. Is it like a heavy duty ballpoint pen type spring? I presume you bought the knife from a private sale, and the warranty is likely registered to the original owner? (I'm not sure how the warranty works with Microtech).

If it's a coil spring I wouldn't think it would be that difficult to do yourself, done it many times myself. Hardest part would be not getting cut in the process, I hear they are very sharp but I've never handled one.

By what I'm reading on the internet, much like Buck knives "forever warranty", Microtech would fix the knife no matter original owner or not. Unless a counterfeit or it's previously been disassembled. Which, I'm sure is quite common to take a look inside when they no longer function as intended. Replacement springs for the Halo models seem pretty hard/impossible to find on the secondary market. Just putting this out there, but people used to buy the different counterfeit/clone Halo models from DHgate for around $30-$40. I'm not promoting it, but it's possible they use the same type spring(?). I believe there are other sites in the U.S. that sell similar clones as well.
