Question about a Vosteed fixed blade sheath?

Post by JimboJism »

Hello I'm new to this forum and I appreciate any help anyone can give me. My question is about the sheath that comes with the Vosteed Mink XL.

Can I turn the mounting bracket on that sheath sideways so I can attach it to my belt horizontally on my lower back? I'm wondering if I can do that with this one or if I need to buy a different mounting system.

I think the holes in the sheath are there for you to lace it up to a soft back.
( like a bayonet frog ) remember the original Sykes Fairbarne frypan sheaths. .
You were supposed to sew them to gear. . .

You have to make a belt hanger, and lace the sheath at an angle. . .
and no. . . you don't have to "quick-detach" . . .it's a lifestyle choice.
accept it. . . I used to carry a sheath knife while working with horses back in the days. .
And it had to be secure. . no dropping stuff under horse hooves.

But. . .I've always been "Anti-pocket clip" . . I used to climb steel, I'm a lanyard man . . .
