My XK8 should be good for 200,000 miles. That leaves me a good 138,000 miles left on the clock. If I put a total of $140,000 miles into the Jaguar, I'll be able to get my money's worth out of it.
I'm sorry about your scars, you're not alone in having them.
I had an Alfa Giulia back in the 70's, it was hard tops from then on.
I also despise sunroofs.
I too will be dropping large bucks on my 07 Cadi in the next few months.
I never thought I'd love a Cadillac.

Billy, I have seen some nice Cadillacs in my time. If I had my 'druthers, it would be the last of the square bodies with a nice, modern 2027 6.7 Liter (409) V8 stretched Fleetwood.
BTW, Jaguar made the best convertible tops in the business. You can have some nice "ragtops" made in the UK. When properly maintained, they generally last the lifetime of the vehicle
Well, I discovered that the pressure cap on the expansion tank was the culprit. This is a relatively inexpensive repair. The Oxygen sensor on the "B" bank upstream will cost me $595.00 (parts and labor).
After that, I'll need to replace an ABS module and harness to the front right wheel. That can wait.
Myself, I don't like the abs brakes. If I mash the brakes I want them to lock up but just about all cars have them anymore. Guess it's for our safety. Big brother looking out for us.
Being a mature person, I tend to drive conservatively and enjoy a leisurely drive to my destination. The 29.75-mile journey via bus, light rail, and shoe-leather to Consolidated Auto Works is not terrible, but it isn't a thrill either. The job should be finished by Thursday, January 21st, if not sooner.
The XK8 had the wrong clamp on the expansion that the Baron replaced. The "B" bank upstream oxygen sensor needed replacement. All told, it cost $625.25. The Touring Coupe runs smoothly and can now pass the DEQ's inspection.

Nice car.
Do you have the coupe?
When you live long enough, you get some "battle scars" in life. while mine cannot be seen, they're still there. I wasn't "in country", but I still have a place in my heart for the brothers and sisters who did. This is why I wear a pewter Cross of Lorraine around my neck 24/7. It is a reminder of the men and women who either didn't come home or came back piecemeal.
The children I fathered never had the chance to enjoy life. They're awaiting my arrival.
The last Grand Prix I had has well over 200000 miles on it when I traded it off. Still ran good but I wanted something nicer and had the money to get one. Drive whatever you want but one of my friends had a Ford truck with over 300000 on it when he traded it off. The interior looked like a Lincoln Continental and a killer stereo in it!
I had the XK8 on US 26 heading into and out of Portland today. Ian ran like the sleek cat he is. He didn't overheat, and cruises best at 70-75 mph (where he gets his best fuel mileage).
There's something cool about a Jaguar that purrs down the freeway.
I like hot rods.
This Willys prompted a bulge below my belt line, then I looked at the price. https://www.ebay.com/itm/277719932581
I used to have a 40 Ford coupe with a 283 under the hood.
Ahhh wasted youth.
