Thanks. At 71, I am still relatively healthy. I am alone. My family is dead. I do not really have an emotional support system to speak of. After 14 years, being "independent" gets old. Our society doesn't give a flying damn about single men. As we grow older, society cares less. (We're "used up" you know.) It becomes even more difficult with each passing day. Such is life.

Happy birthday.

I too am 71 and am experiencing the realities of aging. As I see it, the fact that I am still around to experience these realities is a blessing. As Abe Lincoln has been reported to have said: "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be"
