Bill DeShivs wrote: Fri May 12, 2023 5:49 am I have seen an Italian picklock with white plastic scales, so it's possible.
It's also possible they just painted it white for effect.
A couple of shots of the white knife look like it's a square button knife-others make me sure it's not.
I can confirm that handle was made of Bakelite

Besides showing that foreign sellers on Ebay could get a lot more for their knives if they didn't block U.S. accounts from bidding, what does the old listing for a knife on Italian Ebay tell you about the knives used in filming the Rebel Without a Cause movie?

The guy posted this knife and said it was in his family from many generations when he actually bought it 3 weeks ago off eBay. Lmao. And now he has a special old tag with it. Lol

And actually he posted it the day after he got it on Facebook claiming he knew nothing about the knife. 😳😅

Good eye OldIsGold.

Clearly the same knife from the ebay listing. I guess you can't believe everything everybody says on the internet  .

I did not pick up that they were literally the same knife. As someone else said, good eye.

The thing I got from the knife in the Ebay listing was that the maker of that knife had a very short throw for the safety. Sometimes the slot is almost an inch long. The knife from Ebay appears to have about a quarter inch of safety travel. Not what I should have been paying attention to, I guess.

Weird how someone would create an elaborate lie for absolutely no reason... can't think of a bigger loser than to make up/fabricate detailed (false) stories to try and fool people like this guy was doing. I bet he never comments again LOL
