What's up?

Do you want to talk about your beautiful country, family, or dog? Would you like to say where you went on holiday or how you arranged the garden? Are you willing to tell us you girlfriend left you for a(nother) loser? Do you have ANY non knife-related topic you want to discuss? This is the place!

What's up?

Post by whippersnapper »

I used to be a good dart player. Could throw the dart wherever I wanted. Had a tourney tonight and got my ass kicked. Never even won a game game. Yeah, been sick and hobbling on crutches but can finally walk and put the crutches away last week. I should have dominated all those SOB but couldn't hit shit. Hate to sound like a pussy but that's what I have turned into.I'm turning into a loser and I don't like it.....

You're not a loser, just in a funk. Everyone gets in a funk from time to time. Hell, I'm a loser if there ever was one but I don't let it bother me cause ain't shit I can do about it. Just have to roll with the punches and keep on trucking, all you can do. Sometimes I think things can't get any better and they may not but life is what you make of it. Things in life you can't change but I just say f#ck it and except it for what it is. Can always be worse, at least you didn't end up in jail.

What Sammy said and at least you can still throw a dart. My shoulder is so messed up right now I can’t even throw a dart. I’m working on it and I hope to be throwing darts and more soon.

Hang in there, Terry! Back in the 80's, I must admit, I too was a pretty darn good dart thrower. But, I also remember being even better when I had a belly full of suds! I recall later years trying, without drinking, and I wasn't quite as good as I once was. Haven't hung out in a bar since the night my Son was born in 1991. I can't even imagine how bad I'd be now. But, maybe you just had a bad night.

No one wants to hear that shit! If throwing a dart defines your life than you're a goner. What I know about you you're more than that. :)

Just being honest here boots. It's not about the darts. Just sometimes I get in a dark place and need a time out.I have always been one of those "half glass empty" people. I have a hard time with life and being happy. I'm just a weird Mutha...Fuc

Terry - I agree with the comments about the probability that you were just having a bad night. Things like that seem to happen in all sorts of situations.

A similar situation hit me just yesterday. I go to the gym most every day trying to fight this getting old thing. So, I'm well calibrated as to how much weight and how many repetitions I can do for each exercise. I was off, way off, on my first exercise. It scared me as I have a recently diagnosed heart condition, so I paused for a few minutes before moving on. Fortunately, I was mostly ok for the rest of the workout. We'll see what the future holds...

Here's the deal: You cannot beat "this getting old thing" Just a part of the circle of life. Lots of things I used to do are no longer on my dance card. Bummer, but I am resigned to this new reality, Still walk a lot!

Mr. Whippersnapper,

Well, if it's any consolation, I hold the record for most consecutive gutter balls back at Mt. Zoomie...

Best regards,

Yes Sammy...I am still working at 65 now. I do plan on working for a bit longer, but I think retirement is starting to look good!
