Pearl Scales

Post by eddymunster »

I am curious if the scales look original to this Hubertus?

I don't see the back spring pin?

I thought most Hubertus pins were brass.

I'd bet it was rescaled and the missing pin hidden under the new scales. The pin probably was trimmed short and covered under the new scales via a blind hole. I think it looks good. A few months back I had Mr. Bill rescale one eliminating the bottom bolster, came out great.

The top back bolster is of the older Hubertus variety as well.

I agree!

I’m sure you are aware of this, but can’t help myself, be careful don’t drop it. You can easily chip, crack, etc your very beautiful mop rescaled knife. It happened to me; a small piece broke off.

Pretty sure that's factory handles. I got one from Germany in the early 2000s. Still have it.
The pins appear to be steel-which is unusual, but that doesn't mean it has been rehandled.

I love the looks of the Huburtus knives. They're great "users" (as was intended). IMHo, these are European automatic pocket knives at their finest.
