Old timer and some Frank Bs
Hello all at TB
Since I cant buy any new knives thought i'd post a few oldies .from my collection.
First is a 9"old timer or slant bolster ,love these and wish I had added a few more .while I had the chance .
Two 11" ,the pearlex a Frank B ,and the other marked just INOX is a vendetta Corsa knife..Both open fast and lock up well ,the Corsa slightly thinner in appearance.
Then theres 3 8 " Frank Bs probably from the 80s .,love these tight lock up and fast openers .,good as user knives if a switchblade was to be your carry knife with the flat ground blades.
Like to see some pictures here even if older or already seen years ago.
Hope everyome is well.
Ian

There is a buy and sell topic somewhere, that will be the place to buy or sell.

Re: Old timer and some Frank Bs
Hi Ian,
The slant bolstered knife is one of my favorite design for a knife. I had four at one time one of them was stamped Jndiana. Two brothers Carlo and Edgardo Siega Battel formed the Virginia and Jndiana company in 1961 or 62. They did not manufacture knives. They contracted with the Maniago knife makers.
I collected these from several collectors. I’ve had them for about eight years. They’re really nice knives.
The slant bolstered knives are from the early 60s. The button and safeties are old school. No modern parts were used. I sold the about two years ago.

Re: Old timer and some Frank Bs
John, Frank B had the slant bolsters in his paper catalogs in the 1990s. I think they were around later then the 60s?

Tom
Think these were made in the 1970s .but not sure if some were made later .

Re: Old timer and some Frank Bs
Agreed. These in the picture I don't doubt are made in the 70s, but I was sent Frank's paper catalogs in the 1990s and they were there in a full page so I assume they were not old stock but current production still. Nice design and a useful blade profile.
Re: Old timer and some Frank Bs
Hi Tom,
I don’t think Frank made slant bolstered knives. He may have had NOS that he featured in his paper catalogs.
I obtained my information from SoB. Her are two pages from the book. You may need to zoom in on order to read the text.
Ian the black and white had the bark left on the scales.

Interesting. Frank had them listed but we know the Italians sell everyone's stuff "as theirs" They were cheap back then too.
