That little Kershaw set looks like just the deal for moi. Anyone used those?
I'm also getting disgusted at my fine set of Fred Meyer "Good Grips" POS's. The paring knife broke yesterday trying to cut... CHICKEN!
It's silly to whip out a $500 Terzuola to finish what a $5 knife couldn't accomplish, but I did. Then there's the joy of picking out the broken pieces of plastic handle...
I tried shopping the SKM site, but there were no pictures, just blank yellow pages, what's the deal there?

Mr. Missaman:
I bought a good set of 7 knives from Wolfgang Puck. It was from HSN or QVC..I don't remember. The original set had 6 knives, a sharpener and a wooden knife holder. I think the set was $50 or $60. I then bought another knife they were selling that also fit in the block. Great set...no complaints.
666..in the real hood.

OKOKOKOK This has LOTS to do with cooking.
I did some painful research (having to wade through my insipid, meaningless posts) and found it: .300wby had posted a link to some of his toys, and one of those was a Colt Carbine Automatic Rifle; known as a C.A.R.. the original ones were known as XM177's back in the day.
Here's a primitive one with a prototype XM148 40mm launcher rigged on it:

WUSTOFF Knives
I too have been in the market for a really nice set of kitchenknives and i decided on a set made by WUSTOF. They are a Knife company in germany and have been makeing knives since 1814 and they are located just up the street in the same town as J.A. Henckel. Amazeing Quality!! A set can range anywhere form $300 - $2600. The cheaper ones are still of amazeing quailty. I have seen Henckel's discount knives, they are not even made in germany! The make the cheap henckels in Brazil!
