This is how I, someone who is technologically challenged, uses Imgur to post pictures. I know computer stuff can seem complicated and intimidating, but this is actually rather simple.
Step 1, you have to create an Imgur account at Imgur.com. It's free and easy.
Step 2, when you're on Imgur and you click on your user name, around the upper right hand corner of the screen, a grey drop-menu will appear. Click on "Images" in that menu.
When you click "images" in the drop-menu you will see your Imgur "album" (pic below). Mine has a bunch of pictures in it, yours will be empty.

Step 3, You need to select a size for your picture. Click on the grey box indicated by my red arrow. That will show a drop-menu of the various picture sizes to choose from.

This picture shows the size menu. Click on the desired size as listed. I only use sizes 640x480 and 800x600. I use 800x600 when I want to show more detail (this is what I used to post these pictures). Any size bigger than 800x600 and people might have to scroll up and down to see all of it.

Step 4, after selecting your picture size click on the big green button that says "Add Images" (indicated by my red arrow).

Step 5, when you click on the green "Add Images" button you will see this appear on your screen. Click the white "Browse" button (red arrow) to access the pictures stored in your computer. Once you have selected the picture stored in your computer (mine requires a double click on the picture) the picture will be added to your Imgur album, and you will see it as a small picture just like in my album.

Step 6, once a picture is in your Imgur album, click on that picture and it will appear larger and have a list of codes on the right side of the pic. You need to use the BBCode indicated by my red arrow.

Now here's what I do, I simply write down the BBCode exactly as it appears in the little BBCode box, including all symbols, punctuation marks, letters and numbers on a piece of paper, and type that into my post on whatever internet site I want to post the picture. You need to scroll across the code to see the entire thing, but it isn't long.
If your picture doesn't show up in your post, if you get a little black box saying "The picture you requested does not exist...", then you either wrote the code down wrong, or you typed the code wrong. The code has to be typed EXACTLY as it appears next to your picture. The difference between capitol letters and lower case letters matters.
There is a way to do it that is done entirely in the computer without having to write the code down and type it out, but this is how I do it.
So, maybe this helps somebody. If anyone else wants to add anything, like how to do it without having to write the code down and type it in, feel free.
