Stag Red Rose from Maniago

Post by Quaero »

While stag was a common handle material used on pre-war Maniago models, you don't see many post WWII picklock models with stag handles.
Here is a nice example marked "Red Rose".

Beautiful example, and with a stamp we don't see every day, or every year, or every decade...

Very nice knife. Is that a 14cm or 16cm? One of the old members here has/had a Salesman Sample Case with a set of all the sizes if my memory is correct.

Thanks for the kind words guys and what this little fellow lacks in size (5-1/2 inches open), it makes up for in character. :)
fastr19, Unfortunately that knife (or any other) won't be making the journey to Atlanta. It seems that TSA is quite unreasonable when trying to bring a suitcase full of knives on board a plane.
Jackalope, yes, that knife along with some others and the factory display case did come from another long time collector and great friend of mine.
It sure is good to see some names I recognize from the "old days". Hope to see all you guys again soon!!!
