Vintage Swinguards

Post by JulesVane »

My small collection of vintage swinguards in 9", 8" & 7". 3 with the desirable Made in Italy stamps. Interestingly, the 9" stag model has a full flat-grind blade with no swedge that I don't think is too common on vintage models. ...

A beautiful set there! Very few of mine have made in italy. And a 9" stag is very hard to find! I have one super heavy, dark and bumpy one.
I've recently heard about a vintage Italian 5 1/2" size swing guard. Have you seen these? A standard 6 1/4" handle pattern with shorter blade?

Nice. I don't own any swinguards. I might have to look for one after seeing the recent pictures.

Very nice. Love vintage swingers. I have a few myself, they are well made and fire great. Here is a 6 1/4" example since this sized was previously mentioned here. Marked PATENT on backside. I've never seen 5 1/2" swinger but would enjoy seeing one for sure.

Thanks guys! Texan, that’s a great size to find, awesome! Jeff: I hope you find the smalls you’re looking for too. I’ve heard of those 5.5” but sadly never held one. Good luck in your search.
