Knox Switch Blade Patent 35958
Have had this switch balde in my knife collection for many years and am just interested in getting some info about it and possibly evaluate its worth.
Pictured on the base of the blade is KNOX Patent 35958. I believe the handle is a dark ivory, the mechanism functions perfectly and has plenty of tension in it.
An old timer who was moving out of his house into a retirement home gifted this to me whilst I worked for a company hired to do the move for him. So it has some sentimental value but that said, it sits on a desk doing nothing all day so might be willing to part with it if the price is right.
Many thanks in advance.

Its a 1960s “fulcrum” release stiletto. The marking is “INOX” in an oval. These were certainly made by the Master craftsman Elio DiBin.
Back then the Italian Craftsmen worked as young boys in the family cutlery shops and then went to school and received a degree and a Diploma for being a Master Cutler.
Nowadays with the internet, people just make up titles and call themselves Masters with zero education in the field.

Super knife and very uncommon.
What a great gift to receive.
I havn't seen many of these in my short time collecting but I really like the condition of your knife. Its a nicely untouched patina on the swedge blade and the nickle silver bolsters and fulcrum ....they have that untouched grey that a new owner has the choice to leave as is or polish and I love the horn.
Its a great older knife for collectors....wish I could give a value but havn't seen them for sale this side of the water.
I'm sure you will get some more advice like the Di Bin maker knowledge Orangeboy supplied and a few offers i'll wager.
Thanks for posting it

That release is pretty much in demand. $300 would be a good starting price.

Holy.... really? Wow... I am a casual collector, nothing in my collection is remotely as valuable as this. I'd be interested some offers for it if I can ask that here, if not happily post a classified. Sorry unsure how it works around these parts.fastr19 wrote:That release is pretty much in demand. $300 would be a good starting price.
I might also mention that I am UK based.
Thanks again everyone for your input and I look forward to learning more.

I’ve recently come across basically the same knife, without the the patent #, just the oval with inox inside.
Does the above information apply?

Re: Knox Switch Blade Patent 35958
I received my knife, and it does indeed have the Patent 35958, just that it’s on the opposite side of the one pictured above.
