More switchblades for sale projects 9 inch horn inox 9 inch pearl Frank B rostfrei

Post by easy_rider »

Here are two project specials for builders or tinkers
I’ve had these for years and looking for best offer or trade for other knives. Willing to trade both for a different knife if you can use these.

Both measure right around 9inch

First one is stamped inox in what appears to be dark horn
Blade still pops open but is slow springing
Lockup doesn’t happen often and has to be pushed really hard to lock up. Will ship rubber banded and padded. Stamped inox appears to have some small splits near button but the horn looks pretty nice overall. Light project

Second one is an older frank b rostfrei blade. This one locks up fine but doesn’t spring open at all. Has to be hand pulled out. The blade looks like someone either used it camping or had no clue what they were doing sharpening. rough sold as is project.

Make offer or trade on both

That first one has an interesting design, I haven't seen that style before.
Looking for those un-repairable, lost cause stilettos.

Usually referred to as a slant bolster or old fashion. There are all kinds of examples and pictures in the forum. Search slant bolster and come up with pages of discussion on them.

The white IMOP with the nail nick and washer around the bottom pin is a Frank B?

Here is a blade with the same layout as mine and stamp so you can see it’s legitimate. Same features and tang stamp.

What is the deal with the brass pin/washer on bottom? Is that makes you think it is a kit? Referring to the IMOP knife.

The IMOP is a convertible knife, manual to auto. The brass pin is removed, a spring is inserted and then held in place by the re-inserted pin. Not sure who made these. Frank B is a possibility. Anything is possible in the world of Maniago knife makers.

Makes sense, that's why the finger nail slot to open. I was thinking, why the slot for opening if it's an auto? The knife on the link to AAPK, was that also a manual? I have seen other knives with that pin/washer, I guess they all all converted?
Thom
natcherly, thanks for the schooling.
By the way, I really like that top, dark horn knife.

The pearl is called an atlas kit,it was designed and patented by Frank B,the Edge co.imported them from frank then apparently from Taiwan -but that's another story
