What about the scales on this?
Those had to be stamped out.
The die must be lost or there would be more of these showing up.
One showed up on ebay. Without brass liners but otherwise the same.
It sold for $490.00.

Why would you think the die is lost?
These knives are simply outright fakes. There is nothing legitimate about them.

Hi Bill
The reason is that these seem sort of scarce. Do you know how the scales and button are made?

Looks like the scales are stamped sheet metal. Button possibly is, too.
Of course they are scarce. How would they sell them as "rare" if they weren't?
The knives themselves are not even period correct, and they are obviously Asian-made pieces of crap. And, no Nazi-embossed or marked folding knives were issued in WW2.

Hitler admired the Romans thus inspired him to use the symbol.
The swastika is an ancient Hindu emblem of luck. Hitler tied it to the "Aryans", a grouping of Indo-European peoples, who he believed originated it. Independently, some American Indians also made use of this symbol.

I used to work in the ocean shipping industry and was rather shocked to see this house flag belonging to the Scindia Steam Navigation Co Ltd of Bombay, India. I don't think they are in business anymore.

I asked a tool and knife friend who has about 70 years of knowledge.
He said that the emblems including the top of the button are separate and attached to the scales and button.
He said the Solingen on the tang looks more German than Chinese.
No safety is unusual. Not from 1943 but more like 60s quality.
No clue where the emblems came from. May be taken from some other application.
I wish I had some to sell!

Tell your friend he's wrong. I can promise you that I have more switchblade experience than he has.
There has never been an Italian stiletto-styled knife made in Germany.
What is your obsession with this knife? It's a piece of shit. It's terrible quality, all the markings are counterfeit.

Kinda reminds me of this knife. I got it for $11 and that included shipping from China.

German World War II items have been collectible since the vets started bringing them home in 1945, and as a result, there have been many counterfeits and fantasy pieces made through the years. There is an Adolf Hitler pocket knife that I believe was first made in 1970s. No such knife existed in Nazi Germany.

That's a wild picture. There is actually no place on the knife that you could hang a tag from in that position. But it looks good on film.
