Ganzo took a crap.

A growing number of collectors customize their automatic knives by changing scales, bolsters, blades, doing fileworks, ... Wether you're a guru or just a wannabe knife modder, this is the place to discuss it!

Ganzo took a crap.

Post by bigfatross »

Hello Bill and the Gang,
My EDC. Ganzo finally took a crap on me. I have to say I got my moneys worth out of this knife and hate to toss it in the junk drawer in the kitchen.
Does any one know where I can get the coil spring spring for it? Also I'm sure there are a multitude of springs to choose from, any tips on what to look for while choosing the spring?
Thanks in advance.

www.knifekits.com has lots of springs. They probably can advise you.
I have never replaced a spring in a Ganzo.

It should be easy enough to take apart and measure the diameter and thickness to get the correct one.

If you can't find a spring and want a replacement Ganzo I probably have one. I had to replace a button spring in a Ganzo and it was pita!

ALSO, when replaceing make sure the end that goes thru the hole in the blade does not come above it, if it does grind it off so it's flush.

I'm believe that Knifeworks (formerly Blade Play) has replacement springs for the Boker Kalashnikov knives. Perhaps these could be used.

I've replaced mine. Wasn't that hard. Pretty sure I have another spring. I gave my Ganzo to friend so can't match up the spring I have.

Hi BFR,
I’m just curious how many months or years was it before you’re knife broke down? I have two, but I don’t use them as an EDC. Both are working just fine.
