1950’s Shur~Snap Bowtie, Fishtail automatic

Post by mykniveSSuck82 »

I found this knife on EBay and it was fairly cheap so I went ahead and picked it up. Does anyone know anything about these knives? I know they were made in the good old U.S.of A. So that’s pretty cool!!

Normally those sell on Ebay for an insane amount. Even when they are in bad shape they get a lot. That one looks pretty prefect, those scales rarely make it this long without getting pretty messed up. If you relisted it as an auction, it would easily go to $250. That's not necessarily to say it is worth that much but Ebay would think it is.

Anyways, it is American. I think from the 40s or 50s.

Awesome! I paid $100 and got free shipping.. It was a buy it now so I kinda freaked and grabbed it lol! I’ve been looking for a yellow hammer brand automatic kinda like the one in my profile picture... “the one greaser Greg is flashing” but saw this instead. The blade has a few scratches but no rust or real damage so I knew it had to be a good deal. It was only up for a couple minutes before I snagged it. I had to have been the first guy to see it!

It looks nice next to my rizzutos so I think I’m going to figure out a good way to display them all together with some of my old 40’s - 60’s skull rings and other novelty items. I think they will all look good in a mid sized countertop curio cabinet.. I don’t really know. I’m not going to use it or play with it that’s for sure... I’m kinda the type of person that likes to look and not touch. Maybe I can find more of them, that would be cool!

Those old adverts are awesome! I wish I had enough of these little knifes to fill a whole board like that.

$60 for that Ganzo, I'd sell you the same knife for $25 shipped
. A leverletto for $45, that looks like a DH Gate special. T shirt price isn't bad though.

A lot of their stuff is fake and over priced.
