Post by jdclock »

Looking to buy a vintage Mexican Picklock (NOT the plastic handled bullfighter leverlocks) Will consider any condition, working or not.

You might find one on the autoknife site, travel at your own risk.

Was wondering if this was the type of thing you were thinking about? I have seen a few of these but not for quite awhile. I got this one because I liked how crude it is. Fires good and strong.
Not quite sure I am ready to let it go though.

It looks like a drawing of a switchblade that you'd see in a cartoon.

Probably where they got the idea to make one. I believe Straydog made one of these if I'm not mistaken, but it didn't look like that one!

That knife just needs a little polish.

It's crude alright but it is a Mexican picklock, it is vintage....(just like a fine wine) and it works, works well. Has a great snap. Probably worth lots of American dollars too!! Ya can't just pick one of these up in any five and dime....or the alley behind one, least not any more. Shoot this is the real deal! A working man's model not like some fancy pants, uppity Rizzo!!!

Geez, I even crack myself up...*as I slowly reach back up and place it back in its spot in the non gilded display case.*

And destroy it's wonderful patina?!! Good gad man!!! Have you lost your good senses?!! h...a little polish....probably not though wondered about maybe trying to bring more of that natural luster out on those beautiful horn scales.
