Re: Imitation Horn
The latest from Mayberry is that our wild women continue to get drunk and misbehave
On a more serious note, we had a couple of armed robberies There is an Interstate highway that goes through the outskirts of town and naturally businesses like gas stations and fast food places arrived. Apparently, the criminals would exit the Interstate, commit the crime and get back on the Interstate. Naturally this was front page news in the town paper, again and again. I was at the gym last Friday and saw a town police officer I know and asked about it. I was told that there was cooperation with several police departments and arrests were made. The bad news is that he told me that there has been an influx of illegal drugs.

Re: Imitation Horn
Tom,
In Mt Airy, Snappy Lunch is the original place dating back to the 1920's. Some of the other places (Floyd's barbershop, Wally's Service Station etc.) are reconstructed and not the originals. There are some places that just capitalize on the names and have nothing to do with the show like Aunt Bee's B-B-Q and Barney's café. There is a Mayberry Days festival in late September. Pilot Mountain (remember Mt. Pilot?) is nearby.

A small note-when New York drug dealers moved into Baltimore, they called it Mayberry.
Then they were reminded that Baltimore has been renowned as a source for shooters in the underworld for generations-watch "The Wire" and you'll get the idea.
Many died, nobody misses them
