1980s and up switchblades

Post by limabravo »

Below are some of the switchblades I've collected from the 1980s to the late 90s. I don't know what is considered valuable or rare. If any of the below is a unique or hard to come by knife, could you please let me know. None of them were very expensive, but it seems like some knives go up in value due to nostalgia.

Your otf's in the last pics. Might be worth something but the rest looks like what most of started buying. Most look like the old China knives to me. Good fun but not much value, just my opinion. I recently bought a Boker Blue Whale from Bladeplay and was shocked by the quality. Made in China, who would have thought that would ever happen.

If I were a betting man I would say the brass/wood lever is made in India/possibly Pakistan(?)

The bottom three out the fronts would bring a little cash to the right collector of otf's.
I never seen a leopard fur before 8)

I have seen most of these but the top with the blue lock and the one with the bail under the brass number are unusual, almost has a "French" thing going on.

I put the leopard fur on that one. I think it was a Nato Military under it.

Quite a few of those you don't see very much anymore. Back in January I sold a similar Indian leverlock for $30 on a buy it now. Those were a fairly heavy knife and I always liked how easy it was to remove the spring by taking out the phillips screw.

The wood Leverlock is definitely from Pakistan. Admiral's awesome knives used to (may still) used to sell those.

That bottom. Group is worth a couple bucks,to the right guy,and that bottom of the first picture is a German El cheapo, but it's probably worth 40/50.

There isn't a German knife in the bunch.

They weren't made in Germany, but they were sold through the old Hubertus catalog along with some Beltrame knives so that could be the source of confusion.
No, I'm not happy to see you, that's my 12cm "Red Rose" in my pocket!
