David, exactly what I would have pictured a visit being like if I had ever been so lucky.

Gone but won't be forgotten until those of that knew him are gone too. I'm just blown away by this.

Re: Bad news
I remember selling him a knife once and he wanted to use PayPal. Me being low tech I didn't use PayPal. Jerry not wanting to be burned so I just sent him the knife and told him if he didn't like it just send it back. I took the chance on being burned! We sent knives back and forth to each other numerous times just so we could show them off to each other. I wouldn't do that with just anyone as I'm sure we all wouldn't! I just felt like I knew him personally! Many phone conversations and countless emails over the years. My old cell poor out and I lost my numbers, nobody writes things down anymore. Mr. Dawgie sent me a Christmas card, thank you Ron, and I sent him one back with my email addy and he gave me Jerry's email so we had a few months of renewing our old pal days before he left. Don't think I'll ever forget his wit and humor. I know I'll never forget that onery olde bottom feeder. For those of you who didn't know him he hasn't drank any MB's in years. Hope he has a nice trip on the other side and when I take the last ride I hope I will meet him in spirit! Anyone that knew him is missing him so we all share this sorrow. My condolences to one and all.

A great loss to the community. He will be sorely missed.
I always thoroughly enjoyed the wit of his posts.

Re: Bad news
Very sad news. I only pm'd with him a couple times and enjoyed that brief contact. Will surely miss seeing him here.

Re: Bad news
The man was missed before we even knew the sad news. I am deeply saddened by his passing.
I had the opportunity to speak with him on the phone several times and many times through emails and PM's. I always hung up with a smile and in a better mental place than before the conversation.
Jerry had a great sense of humor but as David mentioned Jerr's intuition and cleverness was amazing.
Years ago I believe it was near Christmas and I was feeling pretty good about life in general and decided to do a raffle and give a knife away.
If I recall I made it quick and simple- The first ten to pick a number 1-10. Jerr of course was one of the first to jump on it.
Well it wasn't a high tech drawing,I cut up ten small pieces of paper and wrote numbers down and threw them in a ball cap.
When I drew the winning number I did not know who's it was, so just screwing around I did a second drawing and drew the same number.
I was intrigued and did a third, now it's just downright weird,I drew the same one again.
All the pieces of paper were the exact same size and folded exactly in half.
I logged in and checked the numbers and it was Jerr's. I laughed to myself and thought damn Jerry, you must have some kind of telepathic energy.
Jerry was thrilled with winning,I think more so than the knife itself. He mentioned that knife several times over the years.
About 3 years ago I get a package in the mail and Jerr had sent me a Lightning. He said "now this is made in Taiwan, not those Chinese pieces of crap"
My little Lightning has laid right next to my computer since the day I got. I am looking at it right now. It has never once failed to open or close.
Funny how one can grow to care so deeply about someone we never met in person.
Here is the knife I gave away,Jerr really liked it. It was a snappy little knife. My heart is heavy today.

Re: Bad news
Greetings Fellow Forumites-
Eye too shalt miss Mr. Jerrbear. We shared a kinship of humor and the hobby of mangling the English language. COPD got him, 'eh? I have that AS well, I guess I'm next. If'n I expire, I will post from the netherworld AS usual.
AS ever,
Your ol' pal,

Re: Bad news
Ladies, Fish, and Gentlemen,
Sadly, another forum member has crossed the bar. Never did meet the man, although we traded knives back & forth over the years. A very unique kind of guy, a mans man so to speak. Years ago, he asked me to help him find and install a fish avatar for him. It was a long process, as he wanted that particular avatar to best fit his personality. I would send him a gif, only to be rejected with a F-No, or a WTF is that? Frustrated, I found this one and he happily approved, that it was the best one for his goofy sense of humour.
Rest in peace Mr. Jerr Beer
Your are missed!
Best regards,
Bonz

Re: Bad news
I'm actually happy to hear that story Bonz. I knew that Jerr wasn't inclined to download pics or programs and always wondered about his fish picture.
Thought about it but never asked the man.
A couple years or so back when he got his new computer I asked him if he had an anti virus program and he said no.
Well I had just bought an anti virus program on disc and it allowed me to use it on two computers so I mailed it to Jerry and talked him through the process.
He didn't realize how important an AV program was so I joked with him and said Jerry, you are going to need this with all that midget porn you look at

Re: Bad news
Jerr was like me with the "olde" web tv! Mine puked out on me so I wasn't posting. Well the phone rang and it was jerr asking if anything was wrong. He had a back up webby and gave it to me, wouldn't take a dime for it, now how's that for a buddy. I really miss him!
