Re: Vintage German WWII fantasy switchblade
No apologies needed here, thanks for posting that interesting knife.
Re: Vintage German WWII fantasy switchblade
Well, I was a little disappointed when Bill said it was a Chinese knife. But after looking at some pics of Chinese knives that's clearly what it is. I pretty much don't own ANYTHING made in China but there's always computer, camera, phone, etc. so I guess it's unavoidable. I guess you'd call this a "mangle" or something; I don't think they're mass produced this way, I've found one or two pics of similar looking knives on the internet but that's it. I have to say the Chinese stilettos aren't terrible, this thing is very sharp and solid.

Love the brass scales.
The first "switchblade" I owned was one with a broken spring I could flip out when I was in HS. I wish I still had it.
It was or looked like a Colonial bowtie but the scales were brass like that.

Re: Vintage German WWII fantasy switchblade
I purchased a Nazi SD storm trooper dagger a couple months ago.
Not into Nazi crap, but this dagger is very interesting.
All of the identified marks are there, and it is in very good condition for a dagger made in the early 30's.
Scabbard is in equally good shape as well.
It came from a militaria collector shop.

Thanks for the comments and the link to the other forum, I hadn't seen that other post before now. In spite of this being an obvious fake, I still really like it. I knew it wasn't a real WWII Nazi knife when I bought it. I'm just into knives that are "different" I guess. I like the brass scales also; they give it a cool, vintage sort of look. It's definitely a good conversation piece...

Big Slim, I too think the knife is cool. If someone slightly altered the handles and replaced the symbols with an American eagle and a POW emblem, I bet it would sell like hotcakes.
Re: Vintage German WWII fantasy switchblade
I had a bayonet blade stiletto, horn grips,9' with the three monkies itched on the blade.
Don't know what it was worth but I traded it at a gun show to a dealer for a new Colt Mustang .380 auto pistol,I guess it had to be worth something,at least to him.

Reminds me of the "German" pantograph knives (that were an English product if I recall correctly)that were supposedly aged in"brine"(or urine)complete with fake Eichorn marks and RZM numbers.I think the company also made Wells Fargo Bowires and belt buckles.
Re: Vintage German WWII fantasy switchblade
Well, here's the companion knife...just got this one, it was cheap and I couldn't resist seeing as how I had the other fake Nazi knife....

What about the scales and button on this. Those were stamped out it looks like.
Maybe the reason there are only a few of these is that the die has been lost.
One showed up on ebay recently. It didn't look as quality as yours. The liners were not brass but otherwise the same.
The one on ebay sold for $490.00.
