New forum member!
Hi....I am Stefan from Sweden....I am not new in gun collecting but I am new in switchblades and I really want to learn....a first step is to be a member here and then try to find as many books as possible in this subject....I just got "Switch blades of Italy"....
Will be in Rome next month....Any suggestions where to go to look at switchblades? Any suggestion at all should be very much appreciated.
This site seems to be great and I have seen fantastic knives here....Thank you all!
Best regards,
Stefan

Welcome Hombre!
You might search this forum for knife shops in Rome that sell switches. Unfortunately, my understanding is that these knives are not as available as they once were. While they continue to be made in Italy, Italian laws have restricted their sale in that country. Most are exported. Some makers have even set up marketing arms in more switch friendly countries such as Austria. Someone with more current info may be able to advise further.
Again, welcome aboard.

Welcome aboard.
You have a good start with the book. A lot of fascinating reading. There is also The Latama Legend for a pretty definitive book on the brand and Switch Blades Exposed for an in depth look at the mechanisms. Both are good reads.
I've also heard that finding switchblades in Italy is pretty difficult to do. Something about they can't be privately owned unless they're in a museum or some such. Hopefully someone here can provide more detail.
It would be a good idea to familiarize yourself with the laws in Sweden and your local area regarding the knives. The legalities of owning the knives can vary widely depending on countries.
As for acquisition take a look at the Sharper Deals Auction site:
http://www.sharperdeals.net/
You'll find a pretty eclectic assemblage of switchblades there for sale.
Welcome to the madness.
