Customized Medici

Post by Bill DeShivs »

While cleaning the shop a few months ago, I ran across a few of the old Medici-type autos that were disassembled.
I decided to put one together properly, and embellish it a little.
I made a nickel silver button, nickel plated the stock safety, cut the scales down in thickness, made new nickel silver guards, coined the backspring liners, and hand engraved the bolsters.

Beautiful! One of my favorite styles of switchblade, and that's the prettiest one I've ever seen, by far.

Are the new guards tight at all? The Medici I have has very loose guards. I only have a couple of swing-guards and they are both pretty loose, so I don't really know how tight it's possible to get them.

Silly question- What does "Medici" mean? Makes me think "Medical"
(yeah I could google but rather ask real pros) 8)

In this case it means "Kick-*ss" knife  The engraving on this is outstanding.
