Even I can have questions!
I love to play with Balis as they are fun. I only have 3 though one is a BM with a weehawk blade that I sharpened the false edge on and I got it around 20 yrs ago. The second is a POS that is looser then the teeth in my head. The third though is my question It was imported by Jim Parker back in the 70's when he was at the height of his tenn mafia days but thats another story. Anyway it is mint in the box and still wrapped in onionskin paper. The scales are bone and the blade is a crosss between a drop point and a semi clip. What I dislike intensly about this knife is it has in big letters GYPSY with a swirly banner around it. My question is since these knives are not exactly my area of expertice which is more customs and switches what is the value of this knife now? I think they went for around $30-$40 back then I can't remember. Anyone?

hello mr PB,
well i'm not too sure of your bali's exact value, you can bet it's well over the $30-$40 buck you paid! there are a lot of bali collectors out there (just like switches) who will pay stooooopid $ for rare mint goodies like yours. i once sold a balisong on ebay that was brought back from the phillipines, my freind paid $10USD for it, but i got nearly $90USD for it at auction! you could have a real valuable item there PB! got any pics you could post?

My scanner/printer combo has shit the bed and I'm to damn lazy to get out the dig camera and reset and config it in to my new system. I will some day though. Once in a while you will see skeletonized models from Parker on BA. Mine is only differant because the scales are bone and come to think of ot the frame and latches are brass not steel it tops out at about 9" or so open. I don't really care to part with it as it was a gift from a good buddy I was just curious if older Balis are going through the same price flucuations as picks. Thanks for the help.

The Balisong Times a bali review site has two Parkers listed. No review on either. Didn't see what you described.

OK, Mr. Bali-illiterate here, but is that for any oldie, or just a Gypsy oldie? Seems like the older my switchblades are, the more valuable they become. I need some education.

Any 80's oldie, they can be found for so cheap.
"Seems like the older my switchblades are, the more valuable they become"
The more valuable they become to you, a knife collector.
To a clueless seller with little or no info the value is not nearly as the true value.
The older knives do hold more value(seller doesnt often even realise what they have), but if you know how to find em, they can be bought for cheap.
