Post by cardoso5fr »

The WIP is on theJD

The JD Flip them off, is a build off only about balisong set up by the balisong alliance by Ron labella on the Jerzeedevil forum. As i participated to all the build off since 2007 on the JD and two time with a balisong. I had to play on that one too :D

The Scimitar Bamboo Balisong

110WCRV5 blade, oil hardening, 200°c tempering. Flat Grind
Stainless steel handle , bamboo style.
14,5 cm closed
Width 23mm.
10mm thick and 15 mm to the pivot.
Zen pins and ball bearing (the ball are in 100C6)
24,8 cm long (open) ,
Blade 11,5 cm (thickness 3,4mm)

And a small video i did just after the sharpening. the temperature in the workshop is 2°c and outside, i have -2°c :D.
That is a really poor flipping session, but it just to show the result :)

That is the nicest set of handles I have seen on a Bali.
You should win the build-off with that masterpiece.

Do you think you will ever make another Freestyle Prehistoric Bali? That is the damndest Bali on earth.
I want one :!:

Thank you :), i have had a demand for a prehistoric balisong, i'm not sure to make one with twisted handle :), but the blade will be "stoned" in steel :D

I do love the "stoned" texture on the Prehistoric. Is that difficult to achieve? Maybe a Prehistoric with handles "stoned" as well as the blade :?:

I would like a large folder with "stoned" handles like the one in this photo with a 4 inch carbon steel blade instead of the 154 CM.
That would be a bad-*ss knife! You ever make one like that let me know 8)

Thank you :D. To stoned a blade i grind the bevel and after i "toxify" the blade. For an handle that is more or less a toxification too, with a variation between hgh and small grit in order to simulate the various statch on the stone :D
