Need a Few Springs

Post by Tom19176 »

I picked up two 9" Frank B s for $20 each. They are mint but no springs. They take the normal pinned spring for the kit knife. I need two springs and two "sex" pins. I think I have heard about them on a site some where?

I search the internet for stiletto firing springs regularly, and I mean almost every day, and I NEVER see any.

Has Frank Beltrame ever sold just springs to people? I'd be interested in some of their new 4mm springs for 11" knives.

EDIT: Frank Beltrame used to have a website, I went looking for it to see about contacting them, but now I can't find it. When I checked "frankbeltrame.com", which is what I believe it used to be, it says "This account has been suspended".

I wonder what's up with that? Unless I got my Google wrong.

I can't find his web site, either.
The springs shouldn't be hard to make, and all you need to hold them in is a pin that fits the rivets.

Didn't see any at grindworx but if anyone knows how to contact the psycho Gabby dude from roadside imports he may have some. Check out dhgate wish or AliExpress. Google may be able to point you in the right direction. I have one that I got from Terry when he was going through the treatments but I really don't want to part with it. I'm sure those Chinese stiletto's can be found somewhere if you use your googlefoo grasshopper.

It's not too hard to bend a 1/8" piece of music wire to the right shape and then just get a 3/32" brass rod for the pin.

Thanks I will try the music wire maybe. The cheap China models seem like a good idea too.
