rocker/sear done

Post by nathan »

Progress pics. I make the rocker/sear bracket in one piece then pin it to the liner then cut off the bottom bit with a Dremel. then I have 2 solid rails for my rocker. Not long now

That looks as if it will make a great carry knife. Is that the plan?

No not built as a carry knife. Thats illegal where I am. I just built it for a guy at work who wanted one. But it would fit in the pocket nicely.

Neat trick to make the bracket. . . .I like it.
Very organic looking. . . . round. . .easy to fit under a scale.

I remember in shop class my teacher had a little pocket square. ( 90 degree L shape template checker )
and we all had chunks of metal in vices and hand files.
He would have had a hissy fit if he saw that.

Looks built strong. Can't wait to see the finished product. Wish I had friends who'd make me a knife like that. :(

I missed this thread a few weeks ago. That was a great trick to make the base for the rocker. Getting two separate pieces with two even holes can be tricky. I never thought of having the two pieces connected until after they were attached.

And this way there is no side movement in the rocker at all. It is rock solid.
