Hi Bill,
Looks great I love it beautiful stag. I like the toothpick and tweezers it's a great idea. I have a few old Swiss Army knives with a toothpick and tweezers hanging around. You just inspired me to do something like your knife, but I'll have to wait till I'm feeling better. This pinched nerve that I've been dealing with in my neck is a huge issue for me my left arm is sometimes useless because of the pain I am in. You know what they say, something like, copying somebody is a complement.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

(I hope everyone remembers this as I copy vintage knife designs or freely reincorporate their design cues.)

Sorry life is giving you the business, Giancarlo. Hope you feel good enough to resume emails/phone calls soon.

Take some advice from someone who has has issues like yours for years.
First- get it diagnosed properly. See a specialist. Get the MRI.
Second- realize that stress in your life can make problems like this MUCH worse.
Do not have surgery unless it is absolutely necessary. After the proper diagnosis, a good chiropractor that uses the "Palmer Method" can be a great help.
Steroid shots can also help.
There are inflatable cervical collars available on Ebay and Amazon that work very well. Do not get the $10 ones, get the $35 models-there is a world of difference.
The earlier you take care of this, the better off you will be.

Hi John,
Not sure if this helps but over the years I have pulled my lower back out many times. About 10 years ago I bought a Russian stim / TENS unit after a Chiropractor used one on me. I'm not sure about the neck, but I swear by it for lower back pain! I would follow Bill's advice "see a specialist. Get the MRI". You can do your homework by GOOGLING Russian stim or TENS unit. Good luck hope this helps.

Take a bath towel fold it in half the long way then roll it up. Lie flat, place towel under your neck for a few minutes twice a day. My shoulder and right arm hurt so bad from my neck being curved forward instead of backwards I couldnt drive. I went to the Chiropractor and this what She told me to do. I havent had any issues since. this was 2009 or 2010

Hi Bill,
Thank you for the advice. I have seen a doctor. And I also have had an MRI. The results were herniated disc's pressing on a nerve in my neck causing neck, shoulder, arm pain, and numbness, tingling all sorts of unpleasantness.
I agree with your assessment when it comes to stress. It certainly does amplify the pain. Another issue is,I believe it's called, positive reinforcement loop or something like that. Where my mind is actually causing me more pain, but I'm not alone with this issue; just imagine people who have lost a limb. They feel real pain; phantom pain. It's difficult but I'm trying to refocus my attention to anything other than my pain when I'm in pain. It's not easy but I'm working on it.
I am seeing a physical therapist. I have been going to PT for a while now and it has helped tremendously. I can now sleep through the night when before PT my sleep was interrupted many times throughout the night. PT's focus is on strengthening my neck, should and back muscles so that I can stand up and hold my head up correctly. It's working. I still have a long way to go. Your suggestion of a chiropractor is something I have not thought of. It is something I need to look into. I've had steroid shots in the past for other similar issues. I can't say that it really helped me in the passed, but it can't hurt. I did ask my call I did ask my doctor about a collar. He said that it would not help it would actually hurt me more I need to keep moving and strengthening my neck and muscles shoulder muscles etc.
Thanks again,
John

Hi BFR,

My son gave me a TENS unit. I use it and in combination with my other therapies; it helps! There's no one silver bullet for me. I have a clip filled with many bullets. At this point l will entertain any ideas/suggestions, etc. that may help my situation.

Thank you for the advice,

John
