My Rizzuto Project
A friend gave this knife to me in its present condition many years ago. After finding this forum and reading about Rizzutos, I pulled it from its hidey hole. I first asked Bill if he would work on it and he said it wasn't worth a professional restoration. I tried to find someone who would work on it but to no avail. If no one will work on it, I will give it a try. It appears complete. I have zero experience working on something like this, but am willing to give it a try.
I am open to all suggestions and help.
It looks like I need to remove and replace the pins. Are there specific sized pins I should get? Anything special of which I should be aware?
Thanks for your help.

Don't do anything yet. I have emailed someone who may work on it for you.
Let's see if he joins this thread.

Jim Brown is the man! I sent him a piece of crap that spent over 10 years in a tool box and he returned what I would have sworn was a NOS knife. If not for a few small scratches that I recognized, I would not have believed it was the same knife.

Re: My Rizzuto Project
"Jim Brown" (screen name) has done several pieces for me and has done a remarkable job on all of them.
Here are a few that I have photos of.
An 11" Kriss rescaled in burl.
A set of black acrylic handled dagger blades. From various producers in 7, 9, 11 and 13 inches.
A Falcon conversion from a manual to an automatic with the scales changed to dyed burl. He made the button out of the original Falcon medallion that was on the manual knife.

Re: My Rizzuto Project
Jim: That is simply outstanding! I would like to see someone build a new knife that mimics the Rizzuto to a "T" so that it wouldn't look like any other Italian knife. If you could make one from another Falcon manual, It would likely sell for a good deal of money. (The "cult" of the Rizzuto-type swing guard is strong).
