No not a bad idea at all. It is very pocket size and the steel is 440c stainless..

I carry a Case CV Yellow Delrin 'Peanut' and a Pirhana P1 "Pocket". The P1 is such a neat "pocket auto" that disappears on my person, yet is at my "beck and call" in less than a heartbeat when I need a sharp, blade now!.

Do these knives have any type of safety? If not, what stops either knife from popping open in your pocket?

Been carrying an automatic for years and never had one open in my pocket, even when I was still working in factories.

I, on the other hand, have had them open in my pocket.
