Capital Punishment

Post by J-man »

I think I'm going to ask some Political questions in the near future, because I like to ask people stupid and pointless questions. But if you don't vote you get morons in charge!

Back on Topic do you support the Death Penalty? I do in extraordinary cases (Wartime crimes such as Genocide, Crimes against humanity etc., Serial Killers such as Ted Bundy). If you have any unique views feel free to express them.

Mr. Joint-Man,

If you are found guilty of a capital offense, then you should pay the price. I do favor DNA testing to help prove guilt and innocence, but if the results are guilty, then hang'em high. We have over 500 sitting on death row in California right now. They get 3 square meals a day, dental, medical, televisions, weight rooms and lastly, expensive attorneys. All that paid for by the taxpayers. Lethal injection? Why waste good drugs? I could go down to the hardware store and buy a few lengths of nylon rope and do the job myself real easy. I've seen plenty of dead people in my life, getting rid of 500 more would be easy. Extreme cases? Isn't one innocent life enough? That fuck-stick in Illinois just slapped the faces of almost 170 victims families when he commuted the sentence and then ditched office. I'm all for the death penalty, but we need to enforce it, and about the only place it's getting enforced right now is in Texas and Florida. Theres too much delay, appeals, foot dragging. If it cannot be enforced on the national level, then it should be abolished. Jesus said an eye for an eye, so thats good enough for me.

Best Regard's,

Bonz

This is a touchy topic for me, considery my backgroung. I'm also for the death penalty, depending on the circumstances. I would not send someone to the chair for defending himself or someone else. Serial killers and the likes deserve nothing better.
Bottom line is "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time".

Bonzo, your right one innocent life is too many. I'm not trying to sound left-wing but new evidence is showing that there have been a few innocents executed in Texas and Flordia in recent years. There is also some racial profiling, chances are it's just fueling abolishers but one could say blacks & hispanics commit the most crimes thats why there are more of them on death row then there are whites statisticly, statisticly you can use statistcs to prove anything. Yes punishment it has to be enforced, and yes 9 out of 10 people on Death Row say there innocent, or they've changed for the good. There has to be adleast a 5 - 7 year incarsartaion before an execution, because one could come forward or new evidence is discovered. Isn't one innocent executed to many? As I said before I'm not some socialist, but in my mind Capital offences are only in extraordianry cicrumstances. But lets boil it down to this... You can't please everyone when some is killed, let alone you can't please everyone in politics.

Razor, I agree with you.

Mr. Razor,

It should not matter if it's a serial killer or not. If murder is the result of one persons demented decision, then string him up. We had a double homicide last summer in my little town. The murderer actually asked a friend of mine if he could borrow a gun to kill a deer he just hit. My friend saw through it and said no, but he did find someone who fell for the story and he killed his ex and her boyfriend who just happened to be an ex-cop. 3 very small children are now without Mommy and Daddy. The DA just last week filed capital murder charges. This certified POS needs to die. He knew the law, he knows the punishment. Now he will rot in prison for 20 years until his appeals run out. I don't know why my tax dollars should be used to house the worthless bastard. I knew the girl he whacked. She worked at the check-out at a local market, and so beautiful. She was going to paramedic school so she could help other people, until this happened. What a waste.

Mr. Joint-Man,

I respect your and Mr. Razor's view point. It is a touchy situation. Unfortunately, innocent people have gone down for someone elses crime. If they are absolutely guitly, beyond a shadow of doubt, then whack'em. With the lack of executions though, I'm almost leaning toward abolishment. If I was assured the muderer would have to tote the ball & chain and break rocks for that evenings beans the rest of his life, I might go for that. It just seems that in the USA, we are too worried about the criminals, instead of the victims.

Bonzo, very true. Infact that incident that happened in your town, I say kill the fucker. But if there is concreate evidence I do support it, I think the pre-medated murder of 2 innocents, infact 2 innocent parents whose children are going to have a harder life because of it, is an extraordianry case in my humble opinion, I should of included that previously. But in some cases I say let them rot in jail for the REST of there lives. In Canada Murder one or Serial Murders gets you life without parole for adleast 25 years (sometimes more, sometimes without parole). Murder 2 gets Life with out possabilty of Parole for 10-20 years (Young offenders and ones who confess usually get 10-15 years rather then 20 or life).

Controversy or what!!

Personally I favour a slow and painful death for anyone who deliberately causes GBH never mind murder. But I have a very big problem with the justice system. Too many people on both sides of the Atlantic have been found guilty of murder and subsequently ...sometimes many years later ....found innocent. When the evidence is absolutely conclusive yes...
but sometimes a bad defence lawyer and a good prosecuting attorney combine to put an innocent person on death row. It happens too often for me to give a yes vote......much as I would like to see the guilty hang, or worse.

Mr. Teddy,

Was it the London bridge that had the poles for the heads of the executed?

Mr. Bonz:

This was premeditated murder, this guy deserves to hang. I didn't mean just serial killers. If someone goes out and plans to murder or rape someone, especially a child, these poor excuses for humans, deserve nothing short of being skinned alive.

Razor, I agree with you, But if there Gulit isn't completey certain they deserve the chance for an appeal. I beleieve they should adleast have Bread & Water for 5-10 years before a scheduled execution; it takes a long time for the justice system to work. DNA testing has proven some innocent, but if you used the system Canada used in 1961 for Capital and Non-Capital Murder none of those innocent men would have been executed.

What I mean't by extraordianry is that it's not a very common Murder case, you can elbarate what you think it is in your own words.

If the evidence is 100%, then lets save the tax payers $85,000 a year. If the death penalty should be abolished, then lets have a prison where there is no TV, no radio, no computers and definitely no weight rooms. Why a prison system would allow it's inmates to lift weights is beyond me...yea, lets have the prisoners 3 times stronger than the guards..hey, why not teach em some martial arts. Let me ask you out there this question...What country in this world do you think is on the top ten list for knowing how to incarcerate a human body?.....give up...Russia. Lets hire Russia to take care of our criminals..hey, they can use the work. Lets see how many people would be willing to commit a crime, knowing that they may be spending some time in a Russian prison somewhere in Siberia....Just a thought.

Actually serious crimes in Russia used to be punished by exterdation (hope thats spelled correctly) to Sibera. Actually Two Eskimos who were chagred with Murder of an RCMP officer about a 100 years ago got shipped out to a North Pole island up REALLY NORTH!

Anyway what about people who clinically can't tell the differnece between right and wrong? Of course I'm talking about people alot more far out then Wally. Of course those would spend there whole lives in an Aslym anyway, people like Ted Bundy knew what they were doing was wrong, so they weren't sick in the head. Unforunatley the State of the human mind doesn't go well with paper law.

Mr. 666,

Not long ago, our Mexican neighbor's to the south offered to take all the prisoners we could send them for $5 a day each. That's $1,825 per year each. Now that is a deal. No wonder Mexican nationals fight extradition from the USA, our prisons are like vacation wonderlands to them.

Mr. Joint-Man,

Didja ever see the movie 'Gulag'? Those guy's ate pretty well after they escaped, well, except the one that was eaten!
