Good luck!

Mr. Missaman,

My first attempt at comiserations looked very insincere... and it wasn't meant to be... I therefore deleted it.

It's bloody horrible to lose your job... even if you felt it coming.. I hope things turn out well for you... and you have the same good luck that JimD had.

Very best wishes
Teddy

Sorry to hear that Missaman. You and I have similar vocational paths. I was a construction Estimator and project manager up until last year and my firm went bankrupt. Right now I'm pursuing an journeyman's ticket as an Industrial Electrician....I know you are a Master Electrician.
Whatever happens, I'm sure you'll do well. Just don't resort to liquidating any of those gems in your collection!

missaman,

I can very well empathize with your situation. Given your skills, you will be able to find something. I believe that you were considering relocating at one point. Is that still the case?

Mr. Missaman,

Man do I know the feeling, and does it suck!

Earlier this year, I was out of work for almost four months. Gave me time to do a lot of deferred maintenance on my 120 year-old house and plan my daughter's wedding. I wasn't worried as I knew something would open up and it did.

Something will open up for you too.

Downside to this was that it cut into my collecting Big Time. Was but a temporary lull.

Thanks for the kind words I'm not to worried yet and have an offer from a company we did a few joint ventures with....
The co. I used to work for rented some space on my property to store equipment and materials and had not paid me for four months so I knew they were in financial problems. Oh well. at least I can sell off their stuff to pay back rent.
I would not mind moving south to a kinder and more friendly place, my experiences in the south have always been good even in the projects people are polite.
Thanks again

missaman,

Sorry to hear of your involuntary "vacation." :(
But if "push comes to shove" you could always sell your "auto-fork."
