Stereo Toilet

I'm sitting here bored in the nursing home.
Looks like another 3 weeks at least.. . .stillon antibiotics.

I listen to music on a laptop with no ear buds.
And I found out that if you place your laptop on the
portable bedside toilet, it becomes an "Echo / Reverb' chamber.

And i thought , it's been so long since I've spent so much time
away from home, in a small cell-like Dormitory room.

Last time was at Pitt University. . . .And I had a cool stereo.
A pre-digital tube amp Marantz/Pioneer/TEAC/Bose set-up.

It might be a crappier sound . . .but it DOES have video also.
No weed. . .but at least there's prescription narcotics.

Can't wait to get home. . .Family, Bathtub, Weed, Cheese-Mac.

And it inspired this new cartoon.

University of Pittsburgh, Oakland campus,(Pittsburgh) Litchfield Tower A . . .
13th floor . . . (floors 11-12 and 13 where "the house of the Midnight Hour")
The elevators only stopped every 3 floors, 3,6,9,12,15. So i had to walk up one flight.
But I used to LOVE running down 13 floors to go to breakfast in the basement cafeteria.
( the 3 round dormitories, that look like cans of scouring powder . . Ajax, Babo and Comet)

These dorm windows are different, My windows where on a center pivot, top and bottom.
So to open them, you pushed on the left side, and the window spun, the right side came inward.
You could re-arrange the furniture, in a pie shaped room, I had the right hand side.
I put my desk next to the window, with a bed that slid out from a Couch bolster.
(photo shows stackable bunk beds, our room had the couch Bolster beds)
When you pushed your bed half under a shelf with pillow padded hatch doors, it became a couch.

There was a circular hallway, it was like the Starship Enterprize Saucer part.
The Original Hotdog Beer and Pizza shop was almost in the basement. . (the dirty "O")

Jerry, it's great to hear from you. You pulled a disappearing act for awhile.

Actually . . . .no weed is sort of good.

Prior to medical dispensary weed. . . .
when you had to wait. . .until someone was "holding". .
'You sort of "Detoxed". . ..

Even back in the day. . .when we'd all go down to the fishing hole,
during a "good summer" . . . and everyone was carrying an Ounce, or at least a Dime bag,
at a certain point, the buzz was not "Fresh".
You'd be stoned for 3 months solid every night. With a quick doobie for breakfast.
And in the evening smoke so much your pipe started leaking crude oil. . .
as much as you looked forward to it, an hour later it was a relief buzz, but not a "Rush".

And if no-one was holding, you dried out in September.
and then around Halloween, you'd find a bowl,

And you got that "Fresh Buzz", where you went from sober to "under the influence" in 10 minutes.
You really felt it. . . .
You were energized, active, you were going through your record album collection,
and setting up concert slide shows . . .(this was before cable TV, MTV, iTunes, and instant videos.)
You'd get the music going, your girl would run the projector an put pictures on the wall.

And you would actually get something done, craft/hobby wise.
Fixing her shoe heel, or re-wiring that Lamp switch.

Looking forward to that "Fresh 1st buzz" in few weeks. . . .
and a big pot of spaghetti.
Get Buzzed, , ,chop onions, make meatballs,
kick back and remember old friends,

and tales of days and daze gone by.
