Listen, the 4.0 liter that Jaguar produced from 1994-1997 was made during Ford's ownership of Jaguar. These are the most reliable Jaguars on the road today. Mine has the Ford co-produced AJ16 engine. Some are still running after 300,000+ miles.

Update please; are you enjoying the new ride ? Is it going to TJ with you next time you go ?
My older brother leased a Jag V12 many years ago; he found it was a mechanical nightmare; then again it was not Ford powered I believe.

Mr. FTP,
If you do head south, make a short detour my way. I have a few fishtails for sale.
Best regards,
Bonz

I'm heading back south on May 17th and returning on the 25th. Bonzo: I'm afraid that I'm making a straight shot from here down Interstate 5 to Tijuana. The only way I could come over to visit you is when I return. I'm taking my new-to-me Jaguar XJ6L (X330).

Thanks, Sammy. The Jag is very nice. I am adjusting my "trip cycle" to make certain that I can truly relax when I arrive. If I arrive at the US/Mexico border during the mid-morning hours It is easier to store my clothes in the room and get some inexpensive breakfast. That usually "recharges my batteries" and allows me to enjoy every moment while I am there. I can visit my friends in the stores on Revolution Avenue and head to the beach. That night, I'll go to bed at a reasonable hour and prepare for the following morning.sammy the blade wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 12:16 am Hope your trip goes well for you and your new car.

That may happen. It will likely run a maximum of $528.00 for gasoline and $350.00 for a hotel room.

That's edging close to $900 to get there and back another $500.00 for food, edging me to $1400.00 before I buy any "souvenirs" to bring back. If I'm lucky, I can spend about $300 for those (including shoes and other neat stuff that I can really use). I'll spend another $20 on firecrackers and stuff to enjoy while I'm there.
I have to "play it by ear" when I'm in town. I can't afford to be too frivolous with my cash.

Sounds like you have a plan. The knives can sell for a good amount ! The firecrackers are the more powerful type correct? There is no issue shooting them off there? $500 for food sounds high only because you seemed to get some great food deals last time.

I try to enjoy myself, but I have to be careful about what I buy. If you are caught with automatic knives, the fines get very steep. If you throw firecrackers in the surf away from others, the police, firefighters will get angry if you don't watch yourself and get too close to others.
