The Passing of Pete Wehs aka Tequiza

Post by natcherly »

It is with great sadness I report that Tequiza is no longer with us. This message from Pete's wife was sent to me by a mutual friend:

"I'm sorry to say that Pete died in the hospital on Sat., June 15 of heart failure,
kidney failure, inability to breathe, you pick it. I was there and watched the
nurses try to bring him back and then stopped it as he was suffering too
much and there was bound to be brain damage. But, on the other hand,
it was much too soon! Can you pls spread the word to your shared
acquaintances? Nancy Wehs"

We have lost another long-time member of this forum. He was a true gentleman. I had the pleasure of meeting him in Atlanta while on business a few years ago. We became good friends despite living over 2000 miles away. He will be missed by those who knew him.

Pete was one of my favorite folks I have never met in person. Sure was hoping he was going to recover and enjoy his new life in Guam... My condolences to his wife and the rest of the family. Bumming big time....

PS, Pete, when you see jerrbear save me a Corona and a MB.

This is very sad and so sorry to hear it. His integrity was always reflected in the high standards of this great forum, regardless of how often he posted.
David, thank you for posting this, passing this news along, and may his soul rest in peace.

He was a good guy. Met him 19-20 years ago at the Blade Show.

WOW - so sad to read this. Many fond memories of time with Pete at BLADE and on the forums. He never let me live down the time at a BLADE show when I accidently picked up his beer (after some of that legendary smallfoot moonshine) and finished it. What a great guy and so many conversations about switchblades and other things etched into my memory. I'll close as I opened - so sad to read this

RIP Pete my freind. :(

You will be greatly missed here by everyone who knew you.

I was hoping he was just taking a break from TB for a while after his move to Guam ,maybe enjoying some fishing as he did.

Knowing Tequiza he will be enjoying a roasted pig on heavens barbeque ,and having a few cold ones with other members we have sadly lost ......will miss you a lot my mate, and will always treasure the knives you kindly sent me.
