Happy Birthday Bill DeShivs !

Do you want to talk about your beautiful country, family, or dog? Would you like to say where you went on holiday or how you arranged the garden? Are you willing to tell us you girlfriend left you for a(nother) loser? Do you have ANY non knife-related topic you want to discuss? This is the place!

Happy Birthday Bill. Best wishes brother.

What do you give a man with all the knife-building, repairing, mangling talent in the world?

(No really, what do you give him?) 8) Cheers Bill, a huge thank you for what you do for the knife world.

Been toying with another idea for a non auto if you are up for the challenge.
Sorry to bring this up in your birthday thread but my internet time is super limited.
Quickly- It's the Uncle Henry Schrade, 4th down. Early to mid 70's bought from a man that worked at the Schrade factory many years ago.
Has nickle frame/bolsters, very hefty and solid.
Really digging the idea of acorn and oak leaves on all bolsters.
Whatever the real beautiful light horn is called, French or Brazilian?
I think it's called thorn/vine(?) file work on the back, even the liners on back if possible and down the butt.

Lastly- Go with brass pins and leave them domed as opposed to flush. You know me, we did this on the old Hubertus lock back and that Puma Prince.
Big domes if you can.
The Puma had a lanyard hole and we went with a nickle bale to contrast with the brass bolsters.
The Schrade doesn't have a hole so I think the brass pins and the light horn will be a very unique contrast with the nickle bolsters.
The last idea is your call. Thinking of the file work continuing down the blade to the false edge OR coin the back of the blade about an 1" to 1 1/4" or so.

Again sorry to heist your thread.

Thank you all-so very much!
Viking- our caregiving duties preclude me taking on a job like that right now. Very sorry.

Happy Birthday, Bill! I'm a little late to join the party, but I want to wish you the very best of what life brings you, and where it takes you to. :D
I will push your buttons--please pass me your switchblades first.
