The sky is grey, the flag is straight
Hurricane Florence is churning off of the Carolina coast and is expected to make landfall in the morning. I'm pretty well inland and unless the track changes (again) I should be spared anything really bad wind wise, but the forecast for my area is for about 10 inches of rain, so I'm certainly not complaining considering what others will face. My concern is that it is already blowing about 25 and the storm is so far away. Hugo flashbacks where I got (living in Eastern S.C.) a third of the forecasted rain and three times the forecasted wind.

I will push your buttons--please pass me your switchblades first.

Try to find a dry spot and hunker down. Good luck.

Stay safe Jim. And I hope everyone in the storm’s path will be OK.

Mr. Jim D,
Prayers for all affected by this storm. We can use all the prayers we can get out here on wildfires too!
God bless!

Thanks all - still raining and we are under a flash flood warning - supposed to rain through Tuesday now.
Thanks Bonz - earlier today I was telling a friend that I wish I could send a few inches of our rain to those in the West who need it.

Jim I heard it at one point it was moving at less than ten miles an hour. BAD!
One thing I learned a few years ago when that Oklahoma EF5 tornado ripped through with 210 mph winds is that a "slow moving" storm is far worse.
It just creeps along and the destruction is mind-blowing (no pun intended).
Plus if memory serves me correctly it was on the ground for over 90 minutes which is just crazy for a tornado.
I saw pictures where people's gravel driveways were stripped clean. This thing sucked sod off yards. I mean when a storm can suck grass, roots and all off the ground...damn!
Chuck Norris was sitting in that chair in the first photo, didn't spill one drop from his coffee cup.
Good thing that guy put the tarp over his truck, who knows what might have happened to the front end.
