Re: Men Kind
Hi Dave,
I hope your computer problems aren't too serious. The good news that there are a lot of laptops available for under $300. and I've even seen desk top CPUs selling for under $300. at Best Buy. Depending on how you use your computer and inexpensive model might be all you need.
You're a list of songs include some of my favorites.
Here's one of my other favorites :
Spencer Davis Group - I'm a Man

Thanks for that list of cool man music.

Re: Men Kind
I'm using a $100 refurb desktop computer that's about 3 years old and it works great. I use it for everything, basketball game streaming, movies, etc. and it's a solid, fast computer. Definitely pays to look around on the internet for deals. "Pancho and Lefty" rules! but a lot of good ones there, definitely prefer the neil diamond original of "Solitary Man" but hey, JC is always good.
Re: Men Kind
I have a nice Lenovo I paid over 400 bucks for back in 2012 so it should just need a little cleaning. I looked up some of the problems I'm having and it sounds like if someone knew what they doing ( I don't) things like "graphics card ? and a couple other things can be cleaned.
It is still very fast and boots up faster than any computer I have ever used. In fact it boots up in about 20 seconds and my girlfriends Dell takes a couple of minutes.
My antivirus expired about six months ago but I don't visit any sites that would concern me however doing google searches can lead to dangerous crap because many times you don't know the source of pictures.
One thing that did concern me a while back was some photos of motorcycles and I clicked on one and they had used a picture host of some kind that had porn banners, pop-ups and one was some bullsh*t warning with a loud buzzer and I couldn't kill the window and was forced to shut my computer off manually. It was about that time my cursor and keyboard started freezing and once again I have no choice but to shut it off manually and this is not good for the computer.
Every once in a while it buzzes and a black screen comes up saying the computer is experiencing unknown problems and prompts me to choose restarting modes.
I have seen computers do this before and not long afterwards they crap out.
I still have two old hard drives that have pictures of family members that have since passed away and pictures of two of my dogs that have died so I keep them in hopes of recovering those pictures.
I am kind of old fashioned, I still burn CD/DVD's as opposed to using a flash drive which I now regret.
Sorry to ramble on here but yeah I found some great deals on ebay for some refurbished computers for a fraction of the cost new. One is a primium Lenovo almost 500 bucks new for about 200 and has a 1TB (1000GB) drive which is insanely huge considering my current computer has a 300GB drive and since I don't game or save videos I wouldn't use near that much space.
I have been impressed with my Lenovo, reliable and super fast.

Lots of storage is great to have my photos and music filled up my 1 terabyte hard drive. I transferred everything to an external hard drive. Don't forget processor speed and ram.

Re: Men Kind
John this computer I'm interested in has a quad-core processor which is some serious power and a dedicated 8GB system for the RAM alone.
Normally I wouldn't need anything near this serious but my girlfriend is wanting me to learn more about video, the editing, sound and all that stuff.
She has some ideas for her art projects and what "her" art projects means is her idea "my" leg work and backbone, hammering, drilling, figuring out how to do the impossible....
Nothing with her is simple, her projects consist of hmmm let's see, how can I take this simple plan and make it as difficult as humanly possible.
(and I'm not kidding)
By the way the computer is a Lenovo. Here is one at Best Buy but I found one bran new on ebay that has a 3 year warranty, less money plus no taxes and free shipping so I think I'll go that route. Pretty awesome box if you ask me.
