Jr Knuckles Offensive?

Do you want to talk about your beautiful country, family, or dog? Would you like to say where you went on holiday or how you arranged the garden? Are you willing to tell us you girlfriend left you for a(nother) loser? Do you have ANY non knife-related topic you want to discuss? This is the place!

Jr Knuckles Offensive?

Post by ILikeStilettos »

Does anyone else find this guy offensive? He blasts the board with a thinly veiled effort at selling a bunch of knives which aren't even switchblades. He portrays himself as a noob but obviously knows many expert things. He strikes me as a scammer, whom I would never trust to send money to. He has 31 total posts, all in buy and sell. Mods, he is breaking the rules.

He hasn't listed anything for sale yet and his posts don't seem like some of the spam we were getting a few weeks back. I don't find him offensive and his posts are all knife related. I don't particularly care if he's banned or not but at least he's not offensive.

I'll try to read some of his posts and get back to you guys. From what ILS and STB said the dude maybe somewhat of an annoyance but he seems harmless at this point. I don't see any reason to ban someone if they have it broken the rules. Typically someone has to break the rules. They're told to stop; they don't stop. Finally, they're barred. But, like I said I'll check it out.

He hasn't broken any rules yet, but if he try's to sell a knife, then someone will delete his post and remind him of the rules.

I just looked at his posts.....I know it is my way of thinking, but did he say where he got them? I hope they were bought by him or left to him.....He seems hot to value them for sale....

He lost his father and inherited his knife collection and just needed some help identifying knives so he can decide what he wants to keep and what to sell.
I really don't think he's ready for the firing squad yet.

Just for future reference I think posts like these should be sent to a moderator in a PM

OK My concern was how he got the knives. I agree that his asking of value if ok based on that logic. For a new member he is not posting his questions in the best way, but no violation of the rules.....Dave I am ok with him.....We have to welcome all those who post alot......

He hasn't broken any rules and hasn't insulted anyone. He hasn't been here long enough to make friends. If all he wants is some information on his knives he'll probably just go away but he may hang around and contribute to the forum. You can't make everyone happy and you don't have to read his posts if you are bothered by him. Just my 2cents worth.

I was prompted by the rule that you don't post in B & S until you have at least 25 other messages. Sorry if I overstepped in raising the question.

Not so much that newbies can't post there. The boss just didn't want newbies posting their stuff for sale. We have always allowed want ads and other questions.

Still someone got ripped off not long ago from a deal done through here. I feel bad but not much we could have done. Everyone needs to be careful and take there own due diligence.

We are not that naive to not know that posts like his aren't half ass fishing around for sales behind the scenes. But as long as no one blatantly does anything wrong we let stuff slide. For example, the Russian guy, Michaelz. His posts from day one have basically been for sale ads. I honestly wanted to nuke him from day one.. Dave, I think you're glad it didn't happen because you have scored some interesting pieces from him. Glad i was wrong.

Hate to always be the pessimist but this place is dying. The owner doesn't participate and has pretty much moved on. The mods barely participate (myself included) and the forums have all but dried up. Guys are passing on and others are moving on. I think the newness of the internet making automatic knife collecting easier has wore off and now people spend their time on facebook or on redit type forums.

We can't be too picky about posts or new members. As long as they aren't posting porn or pushing viagra we should try our best to welcome them.
