I hope so because unused vegetable oil really isn't very cheap. A gallon is more expensive than a gallon of diesel or fuel oil.

Even the old fryer oil is a sought after commodity now and people are stealing it from the back of restaurants.

there's a restaurant he gets it free and refines it
if everyone likes you, then you are most likely a coward who is too afraid to take a firm position on anything worthwhile

No offense Mr Crypto, but your understanding of basic electricity seems lacking. Since you are interested, might I suggest a library book? I'm not trying to be a smartass. I've been amazed and intrigued with electricity and chemistry since I learned to read. Electricity is amazing, but once you understand a few basic principals it all makes sense.

I was'nt shure which part Mr Vanagas did'nt beleive

You all should look up the patents for the "Garret water Carburetor". It came about in the '20's or so. I have no idea if this actually worked or not, but he did get a patent on it, meaning he had to produce a working prototype. (He may have "snookered" someone at the patent office too..) As far as I can tell, separating the HH from the O would use roughly as much power as the engine could develop, then you would have to deal with the volatility of what you had made, as the fuel and the oxidizer are immediately available in sufficient quantity's to make a very spectacular flash/boom if something were to go wrong.

I only meant that you might enjoy an introductory to electricity text with formulas and such. Wasn't trying to make a statement of validity of any of the links you posted.

Well got tired of waiting to hear, so made a call today. Was informed that the H generator is yet to be installed, but plans are to put it on an 86 Caprice next week. 305 V8. A major gas hog I'm sure. It's even a wagon!

Of course we got back into the debate a bit and here are some new "facts":

A quart of water last months as it produces thousands of cu feet of gas.

You must put baking soda inna da wadda. 1 TBSP is good, 2 is mo betta!

It all turns to brown sludge well before the water dissipates. Good reason to leave the NaHCO3 out I'm thinking.....

Water vapor sucked through the engine makes it run very cool. Too cool mebbe. Hm water vapor produced with no boiling? He sez the bubbler pulls in air, but how does this end up as water vapor?

My friend's friend has now completed 30 installations with no complaints.

This all still seems to defy logic, but I will let you guys know what kinda mileage he is experiencing. He used to have another similar car and sez it gets 18 mpg, I'm thinking lower. If he gets anything much above 20mpg I'll be impressed.

Unless he establishes the MPG BEFORE installation, anything he gets AFTERWARDS is meaningless
Thousands of cubic feet from a jar - not worthy of comment
The water will freeze in winter anywhere you get cold weather
WATER injection HAS been used [mainly on WW-II fighter planes] it does provide some advantages to performance but mostly at altitude with a [turbo]supercharger.
[freezing was still never compltely solved]
After spending the $$ for the unit only a few people will admit ["I wasted my money"]
The "water vapor" is probably a natural aerosol as a result of the air turbulence from manifold vacuum and the air inlet.
Etc, etc, etc,

The thing with the water vapor is the guy is claiming his engine is running extremely cool now. So cool he's worried he won't make no heat in winter and it doesn't even get warm unda da hood???

Just my opinion but, it's far more likely that some part of the installation changed the air/fuel mix

The project has hit a snag it seems. The search for a 1/4" in check valve is on! This supposedly simple to procure part is euding my friend. He has tried 6 auto parts stores. He DOES have an 1/8 incher. I told him stick it on there, can't imagine an 1/8 line not being able to siphon off the meager amount of gas (if any?) that will be produced.

He also reports that the wagon has been in the family for years and gets 17 mpg. If this thing works as purported mileage should jump to 30-40.

I have to go out there to get some parts from him for my kids car. I'll be gawking this thing over real good. Might even take a pic or two.

Nah, maybe I'll give him a call tomorrow. I'll take my cam next time I go. Hopefully he'll have installed the thing by then.
