what do i got here?

hi hi my dad just brought me home this knife he found i was wondering if you guys could tell me what i got here looks like a wanna be switchblade does not fling open push of a button cause well you can see there isnt one i cant find anyfor sale on the net like this so looking for help its 9 inches long and stamped made in italy where the blade meets the handle fairly heavy seems sturdy not to cheep feeling ....dont giggle to hard at me im a newb ... srry if this is the wrong spot for this question i couldnt figure out how to get pics in the other switchblade fourm

thats a manual action italian stiletto with dark horn scales,I dont know who the maker is but if you can tell us what the tang stamp is Im sure one of us can help you.

I have no idea who made it. The carbon steel blade tells me that it's an earlier piece. Late 1950s or early 1960s.

There is a newer version of this type of knife on Ebay.co.uk at the moment under the heading ( Italian Managio Handmade Knife )....but I have no idea what a carbon steel version would fetch or if they were made by the same company as the one on Ebay......hope this helps....Pete.

I can't, but in the picture it looks rusted. Carbon steel rusts more readily than stainless. Is it marked "Inox, rostfrei", or similar?

nope no other markings than the made in italy unless some are hidden under the tarnish
would taking it apart help see if there are any hidden markings?

No,I seriously doubt that,most markings are on the blade tang.

others may have better ways but I use steelwool to clean light rust off of my blades.
