The godfather is not an OTF, it swings out the side. (quite hard I'm told   )

The ice pick you're thinking of is not a godfather but a guardfather

btw, Does anybody here own one of these??

Mr. Jimmyjo(bob),

Godfathers are side openers.

Never heard of a Godfather "icepick." Not saying there isn't such a thing...

Is a Godfather "worth buying?" HELL YES!

You're mos' quickness, Mr. Cambo! :P

You nailed that one Cambo, but they do both start with a g. Sorry I get
too excited looking at knives and thinking about the ones to buy.
Jerrbear are the clones also worth it?

LOL!
The knives inna picture are not clones. I was just trying to trick people.

However, I do have some Godfather clones. I think they are well-built knives - Blade is reasonably sharp, with no wobble in either direction, and the snap is quite strong. I think they are good value for under $15 buck dollars.

Cambo,
I own a guardfather spike in blue. Fun to play with, fairly good snap, and could even be used as an icepick. :D :D :D My wife (taz) bought it for me, she thought I needed a new toy. :) :)

Mr. Frank,

Could you please to explain how one of those things operate?

I'll give it a shot, Mr. JerrBear. The guardfather consists of a sharpened steel spike inside what appears to be an aluminum tube. A notch in the spike corresponds with the release button on the collar of the tube. When the buton is pressed, the spike comes out quickly. I think that there is also a notch at the base of the spike that catches on the release button to prevent it from coming out. This also locks the spike in position, because you have to put the point against a hard surface and press the button to close it. Does that help any, Jerr?

Mr. Frank,

YUP! That's what I wanted to know! I was wondering mos'ly how to retract it. Doesn't the hard surface dull the point?
Thanks!

Mr. JerrBear,
Not if you remember to push the button before you start to push to close. :D BTW, It also comes with a pocket clip that can be turned to cover the button and act as a safety. 8) All in all worth the money just to play with, if nothing else.

Mr. JerrBear,
One more thing. Please remember to rotate the pocket clip to cover the button if you are going to carry it in a pocket. Failure to do so may result in mild embarrassment or extreme pain. :D :D :D
