Sardinian Switchblade by Lelle Floris

Post by jim d, »

Mine is a 25 cm model with camel bone scales, polished blade, and with a bottom bolster. Lelle's usual bottom bolsters have sharp corners and a center notch . I requested a more rounded bolster without the notch. Special thanks to Charlie Gunderman for facilitating a seamless process from design to my collection.

I have learned that there is a Sardinian knife makers guild which controls membership and stipulates traditional hand made methodologies, materials and styles. It has been a pleasure following the build and acquiring one of these hand made works of art. I look forward to learning more about the Sardinian knife making tradition.

That's a beautiful knife. I was looking to get one of those, but they were sold out.

boots - these knives are pretty much made to order which is why they appear"sold out". You are seeing examples of knives Lelle has made in the past. Let me know if you would like details around a possible purchase and I can get you in touch with Charlie.

I am interested in getting one of the switchblades by Lelle or one of the other makers and would appreciate the chance to talk to Charlie. How can I reach him, I have a few questions about the best way to order- thanks - John

Fine knife Jim. 8)

That camel bone is so classy with the exposed rocker and domed rivets .
Nice to be able to oversee and advise on its build aswell.

Congrats on a great score and thanks for the pics and write up.
