David Mosier knife

Post by LD57 »

From my accumulation of knives…
Some of you may have heard of the knife maker David Mosier. Started making knives in the 90’s and has become a skilled and talented maker since then.
In the early 2000’s I ran across his website and contacted him about a custom knife. Embarrassingly, I had seen the movie “Pitchblack” and wanted a knife like Vin Diesel’s.
I’ll wait while you get done laughing.. 🙄

I sent a sketch and this was the result.
1/4 inch ATS-34, hollow grind blade, micro serrations on

the upper edge. Came with a kydex sheath. Carried and used, so some scratches.
At the time, he signed his work “Dmknives”. One of my favorites.

The hole closest to the blade is a little off line from the other 3, but yeah, he did a great job making two usable edges on a 1/4 knife. The hollow grind on the forward belly of the knife is perfect.
I don’t remember exactly what I paid, but it was well under $100. At the time I was going to have him make another with the same length/width but in a double edge spear point blade (like the old Cold Steel Urban Shiv). I don’t think I could afford to have him make another today.
